Expanding My Horizons

A brilliant blog post written by my friend Katie, along with some great suggestions from all of you on your favorite songs of 2009, made me realize that I may have gotten a big snobbish when it comes to the music I listen too.  I'd pretty much given up on pop music - which probably explains why I couldn't even hum along to a Lady Gaga song.  Don't get me wrong, I know who she is - I don't live under a rock after all, I just didn't know her music.

I decided it was time to expand my horizons.  So I added a pop hits station to the presets on my rental car's Sirius radio.  After a week of exploring pop - I've heard her "Bad Romance" enough time to have it firmly stuck in my head.  Truth is - I kind of like it.

What about you ?  Is Lady Gaga a do or a don't?  And what other good music have I been missing out on by ignoring pop?  Finally, how have you expanded your horizons lately? Pin It

I must live under a rock! I didn't know who she was, and just this last weekend, I was at a cheerleading compatition for my niece, and this song was on - and it makes a lot more sense why they were dancing like they were - after watching this video...but I also wonder why a bunch of 10 year olds would be watching this video...what has happened to music video's...

I must admit I kinda like her. I wish I didn't. She totally isn't my type, but I have seen interviews with her and I really like her as a person more then as an artist. I wouldn't go to any of her concerts, but I will sometimes listen to her in the car.

Her songs are all very catchy! We have tons of Lady Gaga Jazzercis routines. While I think she is a weirdo, I do like her music.

i love your taste in music. lady gaga is very interesting and her songs are catchy, but i don't think i would buy any of them as most pop music seems to have a short life span.
