Autumn in Aurora

Aurora
I recently spent a week in my hometown housesitting for my parents.  It was a bit surreal to be there without them, but I enjoyed getting reacquainted with this tiny town nestled in a valley surrounded my beloved mountains.  And I loved capturing photos of the town in all its fall glory.

Koi pond
I love my parent's back yard.  They've built an amazing koi pond in one corner that puts me in the most meditative of moods.

Backyard Tree
This year, the tree over the pond that typically turns from green to yellow to brown had the most beautiful red leaves.  A tiny gift from nature.

Fall from the front porch
Even the view from their front porch is pretty amazing.  Nothing urban about this view, but it felt so right to be back where I belong as the seasons change.

I downloaded this song for free somewhere this this week and am loving it - Good Old War "That's Some Dream."  I keep singing the line - "it's alright, I'm okay," not a bad phrase to have going through my head.

wow, what a gorgeous place to be in the fall!
and yes, i definitely buy artwork when traveling. we were in mostar once and and bought this b&w water color from a painter who had a shop near the famous bridge and it was of the bridge. it was only maybe $60 but is my favorite thing ever - and it was preframed! We had to carry it as a carry on on the plane and everything, but it was so worth it :)

The first photo is a stunner. What a beautiful setting. I'd love to live near mountains---or a big body of water.
