Snow? No Thanks

Even snow can't stop this

We had our first snow fall last week, it didn't last long (luckily) and we are now back to Indian summer weather.  But just after it snowed I noticed my mom's flowers were still standing strong - even covered in snow.  I hope I survive the snows this winter as well as this little flower did.  I also hope we don't see more snow for another month (I'm sure the skiers are hoping just the opposite, but I hate driving in the stuff.)

How do you feel about snow?  Love it?  Hate it?  Never see it?

All this talk about snow leads me to one thing - Snow Patrol!

This is just gorgeous Jamie!
We had about 4 inches yesterday. I really don't like snow at all because with it, comes the bitter cold. I would be very happy to just have cold and snow from Christmas Eve through New Year's Day. Then back to 80 degrees and sunny! Still looking for a climate that will give me that!!

I love snow for the two weeks at Christmas when I'm in Utah, other than that, I prefer the band. Hope it stays warm for your sake!

That's really pretty...
I like the pretty snow, but not the slush and brown gunk that comes after snow plow clean up :)

Snow...

If the cupboard and refrigerator are full and I do not have to drive to work I LOVE it.

I do have very fond memories of snow play with my children and taking that first walk in new snow late at night is fun.

great photo.

as for me, i don't like the cold months so much, but the actual snow i don't mind. i don't have a car so no worries about driving in it. it always looks so beautiful for the first few hours until the nyc dirt and grime makes it all slushy and gross :)

We don't get snow here in Edinburgh every year, in fact, sometimes we can miss the snow for several years - last year however it really snowed and we loved it as we got to go out with the sledge. It feels as though it is going to be a cold one as the temperature has really dropped but who knows......

I like the idea of snow, I even like visiting snow and I quite like seeing snow falling. It's just all other bits that I don't like - the wet, the dirtiness and when it turns to ice and you need ice-skates just to navigate the footpath (shovelling footpaths is extremely rare in Berlin).

Very lovely photo indeed! I love the contrast of two opposite seasons bumping into each other like that!

We had our first snow yesterday (didn't amount to much but it did frost the mountains prettily!) I love snow. I love to see it falling, to see it blanketing the landscape, to see it sparkling like diamonds in the sunshine, to see its amazing meringue-like patterns after strong winds, and to think of how amazing it is that no two snowflakes are the same.

But I don't much like driving in it either, and I detest shoveling it when we get three feet of the heavy, wet variety in the spring! It's not the snow's fault, though... it's our fault for engaging in the unnatural act of driving and for building a deck! :-)

Here's wishing you just the right amount of snow this winter to be beautiful and fun.

Great capture!

We had a couple light snows last year (in GA) and it was awesome. I still pick the heat over cold, tho! :)

I love the snow on the petunie! (At least it looks like a double-petunia flower).
I'm looking forward to our first snow here in Wisconsin, although I too don't like driving in it but for the most part I stay put when it snows. I love how it makes everything quiet except for the occasional sound of car tires on snow. We haven't had any yet but it's fast approaching that time. When I lived in the country I used to dread snow because it made life so much more difficult. Living on the edge of a city I get to wait it out until the plow arrives and cleans it all up.
I'm finding photoshop to be a challenge of the highest caliber but looking forward to each day's adventure. thanks for stopping by Jamie, and for your kind comments. They are always much appreciated.
