Across the Bridge

Bridge Reflection

I've mentioned it a time (or ten) before, but I'm participating in Maegan's Creativity Bootcamp again this year.  I've been looking forward to it for weeks and am hoping it will kick start some great things in my creative life.  One of her suggestions in day one was to limit the time spent online during the two weeks as a way to focus internally.  I've decided it is a suggestion I'm going to follow - so for the next two weeks I'm going to limit the time I spend writing, reading and commenting on blogs.

Bridge Close up
I'm hoping you'll understand if you don't see my name pop up in your comments section for a couple of weeks as I focus on building my creative muscle.  I'm also hoping you'll understand if I don't stick to my normal posting schedule during this time. I'm sure I won't be able to give it up completely, but I'm not planning to have a post each M, W and F.

Across the Bridge
When was the last time you dedicated a period of time to your internal creative muse?  Don't you think it is about time you gave it another go?

I was in the car today when this song came on, and as creativity is forefront in my mind, I couldn't help but think how perfect it fits my creativity - it seems it is either falling or flying.

I think it's great. Sometimes it's so nice to just step away, re center and focus. You always come back better than ever! Enjoy your break!

I think it's a great idea and support it! However, I am not sure I will join you on the hiatus. I've just in the last 4-5 days had a renewed energy with my blog--found some new blogs to follow, joined a couple new linkys, and it's inspiring me!! I'm even considering a blog makeover. Good luck, and see you over at CBC.

Time to focus on things anew is always good...even if we have to leave something behind for a bit. That's how we stretch and try new things. Will miss you in my comments but totally understand. Have fun.

Great idea Jamie, sometimes it is very much needed as the web can get overwhelming. Have a lovely journey. Liz xxx

Have fun! I was quite keen to take Madeline's course although the timing didn't quite work out this time. The great wide web-world can be a little overwhelming at times; it's always good to take a break every now and then.

I don't think on of my posts are completely without a nice comment from you, but I do think it could do a lot of us some good to get away from the computer and enjoy the things around us more often. I think I may just take your advice and see what happens. I am excited to see what you come up with!!

i think it's good to step a way and sort of process your creative life. blogging is a creative activity and sometimes it can feel forced. i've felt like that from time to time.

the thing that upsets me is when bloggers feel the need to kind of apologize for a break. i do this myself, but think it's so unnecessary. unless you have commitments to advertisers, etc., blogging should have a natural flow. i never unsubscribe from a blog because it's missed a 'scheduled' day.

enjoy your class and we'll see you when we see you!

Gorgeous bridge shots...love that reflection and the shadowed lines are a great find.
Stretch that muscle girlfriend!!
My blog was down since last Thursday in the Blogger snafu. Just back up and running tonight. I really missed it and realize it too is part of my creative muscle. Hope your little hiatus is helpful.

Beautiful photos! I think we all need time to regroup and recharge sometimes, to go out and get inspired. Sitting in front of a computer is not living, and life is what inspires us. Of course, I'm wholly addicted to blogging and reading blogs, but still. I know exactly what you mean about taking a creative break.

I try to inject little creative breaks throughout my day - even half an hour to just contemplate projects and ideas. It helps me stay focused and get my juices flowing.

Enjoy your break. :)

I'm going to try to cut back online too while doing CBC. I really enjoyed your playlist while doodling in my sketchbook today :)

It's good to take time to nurture outselves. I'm trying to decide how to find a balance between posting and commenting and simply enjoying what the internet has to offer in the way of inspiration. Enjoy CBC, I enjoyed it so much last year. See you soon. xo
