Cheese and Chocolate

Stream Close up
This has nothing to do with my post - just a little something pretty to look at.

As if my world weren't full of enough stress and excitement as it is (see my last post) but last Friday as I was getting ready to head out the door for the inspection on my little house I got a call from my boss.  They wanted me in Switzerland as soon as I could get there for the rest of June.

I frantically started pulling together all the paperwork I'd need to close on the house, did a ton of laundry and started packing.  I'm flying Tuesday and Wednesday - so as you read this I'll probably still be on a plane - let's just say booking a last minute flight meant lots and lots of layovers (hello Spain, I've never been here before, wish I could stay a day or two.)

I know I'm going for work - and there will be lots of it - but I'm also very excited.  I haven't been in Switzerland for about 6 years and I loved it then.  I can't wait to see more and to have a bit more time there.  As soon as I recover from jet lag, I'll be off to the market for cheese and chocolate!

Have you been to Switzerland?  Any tips and advice?  Things I have to see?

While I fly, here's a bit more Tony Lucca - I really can't get enough of him lately.

I was wondering the same thing! What on earth do you do that would require a trip to Switzerland ASAP? Sounds so fun and exciting!!! Have fun and keep us posted!

wow, you lead such a cosmopolitan life. how blessed you are to see the worlds that you see, and do the things you do. I've never been to Switzerland but that's where my great grandfather is from. so that being the case, the only tips I have for you are - be safe, drink lots of water and try to get plenty of sleep. and enjoy the chocolate and cheese. I look forward to seeing the sights through your unique eye.

Oh, how exciting! I've only been to Switzerland once on a layover from Sweden... So my experience in Switzerland is like your experience in Spain, hahaha. One day I'll make it there for longer than a few hours. In the meantime I can't wait to see the photos you'll be sharing (hopefully) here on the blog. Have a safe trip!

Oh my gosh, so much to see and do in Switzerland and you are SO CLOSE to me! We are an hour away from the Switzerland border. My hubby and son are going to Lugano for the day on Saturday to see the Tour de Suisse bicycle race, want to meet up for a photo day in Lugano? :)

I think there are a lot of us who would love to know what your job involves! I was in Switzerland the year I graduated from college. NOTHING would be the same now, but I loved everything about it! Have a marvelous time.

Hey Jamie-
Safe travels....Switzerland...choc and cheese. Dangerous. Do they have good wine too?
I just read your post about your "new" house. How exciting and fortunate for you. I totally hear you on the cold weather and oft wonder what the hell I'm doing in Maine. Is your little house a two bedroom?
I sell real estate so I know how crazy the process is. I don't envy you getting this Switzerland call in the middle of it, other than the incredible photo ops you'll have when not working.
Hooray for you!!

I am so envious of your travels! What a great job you must have that it takes you everywhere. What do you do? I made it right up to the Swiss border years ago when we lived in Germany. We had our dog with us and not the right papers to make it over there. Have a great time!
