A White Surprise

snow 3
I woke up yesterday to a very white surprise: snow.  And not just a little bit of snow.....

Snow 1
Not only does it seem extremely early to be seeing snow (it was in the 80s last week) but take a look at the leaves on my aspen trees.  For starters - there are still leaves on the trees, and the are still GREEN.  They haven't even started to change colors!

Snow 2
I suspect (okay, I pray) this is just a freak early storm and that it will quickly melt and be back at least in the 70s again soon.  I'm just getting into the swing of Fall, I'm in no way ready for Winter.

I'm using the storm as an excuse to dig out Snow Patrol - with their songs coming through the speakers outside seems a little less dreary.

That is so ridiculously crazy - I got a note from another friend that said...guess what, snow. I was like SHUT UP. Can't believe it's come so early.

That is a lot of snow. We are definitely feeling colder weather here, but it is beautiful sunshine at the moment which is nice, perfect autumn weather. Snow in October, that is quite something!

Wow, snow! I haven't seen snow for years. It looks beautiful, but I hope it's ok for the trees and the animals. It is a bit early...

The world is being turned upside down. Here on the Canadian Prairies, we're getting record breaking warm temps, and down south, you've got snow. What a weird weather swap.

The snow is beautiful, but I think I would be packing my bags and moving to St George about now. :) Its been a little cold here this weeks also, but no snow and it's suppose to be 80 by Tuesday.

Holy schmoly....I don't like the looks of THAT! I hope it all melts quickly. It doesn't make sense to have snow before the raking season has even begun. Mother Nature must have a touch of alzheimers.

Oh my goodness Jamie, this is early! It sure looks pretty, but I also hope it's not heading here! :-)
Have a great weekend.

I heard a rumour that snow was forecast for us too but so far it hasn't materialised- I hope it stays away, winter is long enough without an early start like this!
