A Slumber Party

2012.02 Draper Lehi Kids Weekend (1 of 11)
Friday was the big slumber party. Just me and my niece for the entire night. We saw our first 3D movie together, not sure how I've missed the entire 3D craze, but based on my viewing of "Puss in Boots" I still don't see the real appeal, am I missing something?

After the movie we went to Target to get supplies for the rest of the night and both came home with a pair of platform sandals (too bad it isn't sandal weather yet.)

Next up, a little dancing...our soundtrack? Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl, Miss M's favorite, Katy Perry's California Girls and just to help round out her musical education for the night, the original California Girls by the Beach Boys.

We painted our nails, made cupcakes.....

and ate them for breakfast. We had a great time and I for one, can't wait to do it again with my very favorite little girl.

YOU are on rock star status in the "aunt"dom of life. How could this little one not totally adore you. Looks like a fun night-and cupcakes for breakfast-that's brilliant. Another fave of mine? Ice cream on pancakes. Mint chip works well. Glad to see you having fun downtime.

Jamie, you are the best auntie ever. What a sweet day!

I'm loving that you ate cupcakes for breakfast. Girls after my own heart right there! :)

Oh, and no. You're totally not missing anything with the 3D movies! I don't get the appeal...they kind of just make me feel a little sick. Why am I paying $3 for that? :)

Oh, you niece got spoiled. It sounds like my kids would love you, too. Who else would let them watch movies, shop, paint their nails and eat cup cakes all in the same night! Would you like to babysit some time?
