Thanks and a Giveaway

Your kind words about my office remodel left me blushing - thanks for being so kind and encouraging.  It was a labor of love for me and I have to admit, working there is pure joy.  Thanks for your advice on the color of the small shelves - it seems white is the way to go.  I planned to paint them, but I found myself in Ikea Saturday and instead purchased 3 shelves to match the big unit.  The birch colored ones will find another home.  I can never have too many bookshelves.

As part of my thanks - I have a giveaway for you today.  CSN Stores has given me a $35 gift card to share with one of you.  So if my remodel inspired you to spruce up your work/creative space you could use this gift card to pick up some new home office furniture of your own.

My second (larger) remodeling project, my master bed/bath, is still moving along - not as quickly as I'd like unfortunately.  Is anyone else out there remodeling?  Any tips to dealing with the in between stage?  I find I want it all perfect right away - but it takes time to find just the right pieces - and to save up the cash to afford them.

To sign up for the giveaway, simply comment on this post.  You can add a second comment (and entry in the drawing) by subscribing to my blog.  You have until Midnight, Friday (Mountain Standard Time) to enter the giveaway.  I'll announce the winner on Monday.  Note:  CSN Stores only ship to the US - so that means some of you are out of the running - sorry about that.

I've had this song on my list to share for a while - but it isn't the happiest song so it keeps getting pushed down the list.  But, its gorgeous so I'm going to share it here just because, Plumb "Cut."

I get winds of cleaning all sorts of areas around my house.
When my parent's had to tear down their house due to a foundation issue, I would come home after getting things packed up and go to town about cleaning my house I share with my husband.

I'm glad you purchased white bookcases....they'll look great. I too have trouble getting thru the middle part of makeovers...I like quick and neat...As you know, I'm already a follower.

That's generous of you to offer up the gift card! I'd like to throw my hat into the ring, as we're in need of a bookcase. Thank you! (I follow you, and you know where to find me!) :-)

We've been remodeling during most of the 19 years we've lived here, and have practically rebuilt the whole house, top to bottom and inside & out. Does it ever end? Actually, we're doing one of the last major projects now, which is new ceilings and ceiling molding in the two guest rooms and main linen closet. We've had to empty those spaces, so we have stuff strewn everywhere. I hate chaos, clutter and disorder but they seem to love me just fine! LOL

I don't have any advice to help get you through it except to try to enjoy the creative process! For me, the longer some of these projects take the more opportunities I have to come up with new ideas, products or inspiration. Besides, the anticipation is usually the best part of anything! :-)

We're in the midst of painting our whole downstairs and a very long hall that starts downstairs, winds its way upstairs and snakes through the second floor. It took three weeks to paint the dining room since we have an old house and cracks must be taped, etc, etc. I'm tired of the mess already but we have a ways to go! I'm very happy with the paint choices though, and that's the hardest part. If I'm very lucky by the end of the year, I'll be involved in a kitchen remodel. I've waited 25 years for it, so I'll try hard not to complain about any inconvenience.

I am hopeful to have new window put in this spring, and all of my projects are on hold until that can happen. No point in painting until all of that is done.
I'm ready to try a few small projects, because I'm itching to do SOMETHING.

I am not good at renovating, I hate the mess as the dogs always want to be involved! good luck with the next stage.

I understand that in between part. Luckily I could close the door and not see it. I'm not a good decision maker but was rushed to pick out the paint. Turned out I love it and didn't even get a sample. Maybe I should be under the gun more often!

I LOVE the remodel! My office has envy... ;-) I'm in the middle of furniture refinishing and it is a lot of work! I don't really want to see a sander or any more paint for a long time! Of course the end product is always worth the work!

Yippee for a giveaway! Exciting! Wish I had some tips for you but that is my biggest frustration as well. Finding the right pieces as well as waiting on money sometimes. Blah.

Beautiful song choice Jamie - don't think the giveaway is available for non-US people (bummer), but love the song choice. A little melancholic, but so lovely.
