I've said before that I wasn't much of a beach person. I just didn't "get" the appeal of spending hours sitting on the beach, but when I got to St Lucia my perspective changed. We spent the entire day on the beach and I discovered the bliss that comes from doing nothing but sitting under an umbrella with a good book, some great music and amazing friends.
I wasn't bored for a single moment and the truth was I hated to pack up and leave at the end of the afternoon. Good thing I had several more days of beach time ahead of me.
The day ended with a spectacular sunset, the perfect end to a blissful day. This is the type of sunset that doesn't fit in with Iron & Wine's
Sunset Soon Forgotten.

I'm glad you "get" the beach now. I wish I lived closer to one!!
It looks like a beautiful beach to just sit & relax!
I grew up living near the beach and I miss it terribly.
I don't quite get the beach myself though I've never had quite the experience you've depicted in these pictures.
That sunset looks beyond amazing. Cheers!
I went there once - some years ago. We stayed at Marigot Bay and I think that was the first time I experienced sea that was warm. Wonderful!
I've been catching up on your recent posts and woman you have been all over! So glad you found bliss at the beach. We so rarely take time to disconnect and just be, and that beautiful beach was the perfect place for it. I love reading about your travels, I feel a bit like I get to travel along with you. Thanks for sharing your experiences in photos and words with us. xoxo
I'm not really a beach person either but lately I've been dreaming of relaxing by the ocean.
St. Lucia is hands down, the most beautiful place I have ever visited. On more than one occassion I have thought about packing up bags and heading back down there to start a new life.:-)

I grew up an hour from the beach and could never understand people who didn't know how to spend a day at the beach.
There seriously is nothing more relaxing, I'm glad you've learned the way of the beach-goer ;)
What a place to be, and I am so glad you enjoyed it.
