We had a good sized storm in my neck of the woods over the weekend (well over a foot of snow.) And while I am very much hoping the switch from February to March means this will be the last of the winter storms, I did find some beauty while I was out shoveling the walks on Saturday. The kind of beauty that made me pull my camera out - something I haven't done much of lately.
Even as tired as I am of snow and winter, I have to admit mother nature is the ultimate artist.
I've been thrilled to see Mumford & Sons on top of the charts in the weeks since the Grammy's. I want to do my part to keep spreading the word, so here is a bit more from them:
We had the same here last weekend Jamie, and it was out of nowhere. I have to agree though, that it does provide inspiration for some truly wonderful shots, as you have shown here.
oh you said that so well, jamie ... indeed mother nature is the ultimate artist! i was just saying to kim today how much i do love winter for all it's beauty, even though we are getting a little weary of the super cold stuff! sweet tune ~ beautifully shot video ... : ) cheers to the 'last' storm, my dear! xoxo prairiegirl
It's hard to argue with how beautiful the snow can be, bit I think I would have a hard time giving up our 60 degree, playing outside, riding our bikes weather for a foot of snow. Good thing it's beautiful, right? Once again you have captured some AMAZING shots!!
No doubt it's pretty-but now it can go, right? Hope the melt is on for you and it was the last blast. Your images make it look so romantic, even tho we both know it's not.
I hate to break it to you, but you can pretty much guarantee that there will be more. Winter here goes through April at least. Great photos though! You need to come sledding with us next time.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is getting the winter blues. We just got snow today and I'm like "Come on, it should be over by now, right?" Oh well, at least I have your pretty pictures to look at :)
I've had my treat for the day after coming here and seeing your beautiful minimal photos. just perfect. I've missed this. and I'm really loving Mumford too lately. I hardly ever buy new music, but I might just make a purchase. have a great weekend Jamie.
Oh, girl, a foot? really? a foot of snow at this time of year? *sigh* good for you finding the beauty. (and you certainly did) I am not the type of person to wish for yet another snow fall. No matter how beautiful. I'm all ready for the earth to green up, to hear the birds sing, to see those colorful early blossoms. Stay warm xo

YOu were definitely able to find the beauty in this late season storm. And I love me some Mumford and Sons!
You make the lingering winter look full of light :)
"Mother Nature is ultimately an artist.". Ain't that the truth! That first shot is magnificent! Stay warm!

Beautifully done!
Beautiful shots from the endless winter! Or should I say the never-ending winter :) Enjoyed the tune. Thanks Jamie.

That first photo is amazing - the spiky ice on the branches. Lovely view of the end of (yes the end!) winter.

Gorgeous photos, it was the same here, a crazy storm. I'm not convinced it will be the last one, but I am hoping you are right!

Beautiful pictures and very much hoping for your sake it all disappears soon with some beautiful sunshine.
Beautiful photographs. I hope you are right, and we'll be done with winter storms here as well, but I fear it's unlikely.
In spite of the cool icey images..there is a real warmth to your winter songs!!!! And - yes - let's hope it's the last storm!
!!
oh yes she is the ultimate ..always changing medium..you captured it beautifully though...
Your ice photos are lovely. I'm sure you'ready to dig out though. Have a good week.
