I've said several times in the past couple of weeks that I'm in no way ready to let go of summer. I'm just not ready for the shorter days and the snow. But after watching this storm roll in over the mountains, I started to remember all the things I love about Autumn: the colors, the smells, and the beautiful art that fills the skies as the clouds move in.
I'm trying to remember that Autumn is one of my favorite seasons and not to resent the fact that this week I went from wearing Haviana's to Uggs (my office has suddenly gotten cold in the mornings.)
Are you excited for the changing seasons? Or are you like me, still clinging to summer?
I haven't listened to Ane Brun for a while, but I was skimming through my music collection and saw her "Changing of the Seasons" album, pulled it out and rediscovered her song: "The Fall." Perfect for the mood I'm in today. Pin It

Awesome sky in those pics!
Well.
Summer is over, I had to finally realize that - and since that is a fact I´m fine with fall. However, I prefer the sunny, crisp and colorful fall to the dark, rainy fall that has been so far. I really hope it turns around soon, because cold rain is only lovely when I´m inside with lit candles and hoto cocoa. ;-)
Really angry skies. Summer's over here too (what we had of it that is!)
here in the south we are not done with summer ..our winters are mild and fall is tucked in there
love a wonderful series of cloud photos ..such an amazing feel to them here !
I'm still clinging, I'm afraid...still clinging...*sigh* (loooove that first shot, my friend!)
What are Haviana's? Is that a fancy word for flip flops?
Oh Jamie--you know I love the fall. I enjoy summer, but fall has always been my favorite time of year.
i'm definitely on the fence about this change in weather :( the summer was so FUN so i'm not ready to see it go, but...a cozy fall sounds good too :)
i'm not clinging to summer, but just living in the present. if it's warm, i'm happy.
I LOVE fall time; everything about it! But I don't have snow to looks forward too after fall is over so its just a nice refreshing season after an extremely hot summer.
I loved every ounce of the summer we had but I'm ready. The leaves, the pumpkins, the cool, the colours. I love the crisp whispers on the wind in fall equally as much as the warm ones that arrive in the spring.
That first photo is wonderful! i'm not ready for autumn but it's here whether I like it or not. Having said that, it is a lovely time of year and i love the colours.
while i love summer, i am excited for fall sweaters and boots this year. bring it on!
i will hold on to every bit of summer I can and go kicking and screaming into fall and winter. I do like the fall color but hate the cold and really hate trying to figure out what to wear 45 in the morning and 80 in the afternoon in september is a killer.
love the storm pictures I do love a good thunderstorm to clear the air.
artistic pic with the power lines....
I admit I am not ready for fall this year. Mostly because we had a brutally cloudy winter, spring and early summer... our summer just started 6 weeks ago. My husband is threatening to move to AZ during our winters.... I may have to buy him a light lamp.
Still clinging to summer here as long as I can. I love the fall colors, but dread the long, long winter that follows.
