Evening Stroll
In fact, I got so involved in the people watching and just enjoying the long days and having a new place to explore, that I nearly forgot to take photos. Which, in all honesty was somewhat nice. I think I felt more connected without the camera up to my eye.
I enjoyed exploring some of the shops and restaurants, Jamie Oliver's restaurant was my favorite on this trip (it's called Jamie's Kitchen.) If only the food coming out of my kitchen were half that good!
The one surprise, for me at least, was that most of the shops closed around 6 PM. Which, looking back may have been a good thing. I didn't make a single purchase the entire week. Which may just be a first when visiting a new city.
When was the last time you visited a new city and didn't buy a thing?
This David Nail song has been in my head all week - it could have to do with all the rain in Glasgow: Let it Rain.

Proof of Spring
While we do still have patches of snow on the grass, it is rapidly melting and on Saturday I noticed the first signs of spring in my yard as green shoots are starting to make their way above ground (if you look closely in the photo you can see a patch of snow behind the green.)
We were out Saturday evening enjoying the warmer weather and dusting the scooters off after a long winter. It felt so good to be out there without coats and boots! My nephew seems to share my hatred for shoes because we were both outside barefoot. He, however was the only one to run through the snow in his bare feet - I just stood there and watched him do it because I thought it would make a cute photo.
Is winter still holding on at your house or am I the last person to see spring?
There are times when I feel like I'm experiencing my own personal spring. I can feel myself growing stronger and getting ready to break out of my winter hibernation - ready to move forward to a brighter, shinier me. This song reminds me of those times.

Frequent Flyer
In the past two weeks I've flown 17,500 miles, been in 9 different airports, survived 6 layovers and gone through customs/immigration 7 times. While two of the trips have been personal travel I'm still ready to stay in one place for a while.

In a Moment
Today I got to see a bit more of the area around the office. It is simply gorgeous, acres of rolling fields full of trees, barns and beautiful homes. I wish I'd taken my camera with me so I could share some images. The weather has warmed up and the snow has mostly melted so I can start to imagine how beautiful everything will be this Spring when the leaves come out and the grass gets green.
Everyone I meet is polite and welcoming and they just seem to go that extra mile to make sure I feel welcome and have the things I need, whether I'm talking to someone in the office or at a store.
Every night during my commute this song has come on and several times its made me stop and think about the ways our lives can change in a moment.
