Creativity Bootcamp Day 8 - Ornament
Today's prompt is - ornament. Which immediately took my mind to Christmas ornaments, which seemed out of season, then to hood ornaments. Then I realized cars don't really have hood ornaments anymore. This line of thought took me to the old cars that have spent decades decorating the foothills above my home town. Even my dad doesn't remember a time when they weren't there.
For some reason these cars always remind me of an old John Cougar Mellencamp song - "Small Town."

I love how the cars have sunk into the ground and are just part of the ground now.
Great picture. My fil used to call a scene like that "yard art".
I was thinking the same thing, hood ornaments, but also thought about how they don't have them on the newer cars like they did on the older ones.
I remember my friend's parents occasionally complaining about how someone stole their hood ornament. Lol. Grew up in Chicago, lots of cars parked on the streets, kids like 'collecting' them when I was younger.
I am just catching up and your pictures the last few days are of course beautiful! I especially love the clay pigeon one because to me it represents a victory. You got that one shot you were going for and that is so exciting! It was so good to see you this weekend!!!!
old cars are ornaments of the past. I love the compostition of this picture, the added colors of the cars along with the hillside-very artistic!
i LOVE this photo. i had to click on it and enlarge it to just stare at it awhile, taking in all the textures and colors. this reminds me of new mexico. very beautiful landscape, wherever it is.
That is a fantastic interpretation!
Beautiful photo...captures the word in an unexpected way :) And I love JCM's Small Town. Reminds me of a time before the city when I used to live in a small town...
very thought provoking image! not at all what one would expect, but all the better for being unique
This is a great shot, totally unique for the prompt! Love the story of how you got to that shot aswell.
Love the colors in this shot. Your images are so crisp! You've come up with such a unique twist on your blog matching music with your posts and your life. Love it! My song would be, "Be OK" by Ingrid Michaelson. I also like her song, "You and I" for my husband and I:) Keep it up! Looking forward to seeing more images and cool music!
