Last weekend we decided we had to get out of the office, so we headed down to a cafe on the Bosphorus for brunch. The cafe was on a wharf out over the water, the view was spectacular and the food was wonderful.
After weeks of non-stop work, I couldn't believe how energised I felt after a few hours away from the computer. And it made me so eager to explore the different neighborhoods here in Istanbul - it seems like they all have their own unique personalities - one of my very favorite parts of living in a large city.
Being this close to the water was such a peaceful way to spend the morning - even if it did leave me wanting to find a friend with a boat so we could sail up and down the Bosphorus! I can see it now - a boat, a picnic and Brooke Fraser singing: Sailboats.
Are you a brunch fan? It may just be my favorite meal to eat out - there is something inherently lazy about it - you don't go to brunch expecting to hurry - you go expecting a relaxed experience, and all that lovely food.

I love brunch so much! Like I want it now instead of my healthy week day breakfast! Happy Monday!
Now that sounds like a great way to spend a few hours. Glad you could do that. The pictures are beautiful, what a beautiful place.
This looks beautiful, Jamie! And yes, I love to brunch! :-)
Hi Jamie,
I love brunch and on the waterfront, well.. that sounds heavenly!!! Beautiful sunlight and atmosphere captured in these images! Great architecture in the third piece - love all the angles.
Wishing you a super week!
I too love brunch. Your pics are so enjoyable. Thanks for sharing and glad you got away from the computer for at least a few hours. Water refreshes me all the time.
Sounds like just the break you needed. What an amazing place. Brunch is good I could eat breakfast any time of the day :)
i love brunch! i love your photos, makes me feel i am on vacation!
Brunch is a big deal for me. I'm helping plan a champagne brunch wedding for this coming summer and can't wait.
Cheers!
I so agree with your idea of brunch. And it is my most favorite meal to have out. That looks like an absolutely beautiful place to enjoy any meal!
I haven't been to brunch in ages, but I agree, it's a great meal. The first year we were married we hosted Sunday brunch every week. Everyone who showed up (we never knew how many might be there) brought something to share. It was a great time!
I love brunchs especially by the water in a place called Beachcombers in Corona del Mar.
