Here's the thing - melting snow is rarely beautiful. Snow is beautiful when it first falls and is untouched. But start adding in sand and salt so it will quickly melt off the road, then add in dirt and pollution and you end up with a muddy slush, not something I usually consider beautiful. But add in a little PW Vintage Action and it looks a bit better.
We had a warm spell at my house for a few days and the snow was quickly melting - this is what I found near my driveway. If you look closely you can see the blades of grass sticking their heads up.
Since winter isn't going away anytime soon, I'm choosing to try and enjoy it, with the help of some of my favorite winter songs - including this one by The Head and the Heart:

You're so right...slush is not pretty and that's all we got. But vintage does make it look better.
We are due some snow, but so far, not happening!
No thaw in sight here. The weatherman said last night we've had at least a trace of snow every day this month--well over two feet of it in total. Fortunately, the roads have been much better recently.
I'm with you Jamie....snow=dirt, grime, yuck. you're being a better sport than I and trying to accept it. You vintage image is lovely tho'
Going to try your tomato soup receipe this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes-and if I'm addicted as well. Thanks for sharing.
Vintage definitely makes sludge look more attractive, we have just had another dumping of snow here in Kent!
lol vintage does make it better!
the beautiful white snow turns to dirty slush pretty fast where i am. you did a nice job making this still look pretty!
So very creative. Just the simple patch of melting snow. Perfect!!!
It just keeps snowing here - almost a week of on again, off again snow storms. Everything is a very pretty white, hopefully it'll stay that way until Christmas :)
I greeted slush this morning on my doorstep too, which is pretty anoying.
I looooooove the song by the head and the heart! Makes dance in front of the screen!
Truly the best we can do (try to enjoy it)!
I really love this shot!
thawing snow is always good in my book!!!
i see it!
I like this photo Jamie. It pushes the edge of what is beauty, and what is "worthy" of photographing. I'm a believer in capturing not only the beauty, but also the beast. Because that's life. great video too btw. You always manage to challenge my ears. I love that.
snow is rare here . great harmony
I'm impressed. You actually made gross, dirty snow look neat. Even the not so beautiful is worth our time sometimes!
