One lazy Saturday I made my way to the top of Eyup, a neighborhood in Istanbul, to the famous Pierre Loti Cafe. It was the perfect place to snap a few photos and enjoy a bit of fresh air.
I dream of having a kitchen with tile work like this in it someday. Isn't it amazing?
The perfect setting to spend a few hours visiting with friends or reading a book. The best part was, of course, the people watching. This cafe didn't seem to be a big tourist hang-out which is a big plus in my book (even if I am essentially a tourist!)
The very best part was the view of the Golden Horn - amazing!
The hours spent here were so relaxing - a bit like this Crooked Fingers song "Heavy Hours."

So gorgeous, as always. Love that river shot. Just stunning. I'd love to have a hot cup of coffee up there and just watch the river.

Great pictures Jamie. Made me feel like I was there.
You've really captured the serenity of the place! And, those tiles are gorgeous...I wouldn't mind something like that in my kitchen, either :)
Glad you were able to have a lazy Saturday in between the hard work that you are doing there. Great pics and descriptions.
Your image show the beauty of a place I have never been or may not be. Loved your blog posts I visited today.
How is your Turkish coming along? I'm good at ordering food, cause that's majorly important :D
