The first event I got to go to in London was the 3m Women's Synchronized Diving Final. I've never seen diving live, so I was excited to give it a go. The very first thing I noticed was the spirit and enthusiasm of the British fans - they were out in droves to support their team.
A few of shots of these talented women in action. I can barely dive without belly flopping, so I can barely image the countless hours these athletes must have spent at the pool.
To make the day even better I got to spend some time with 3 friends who were working the Games - one visit was planned the other two I just happened to find while wandering through the park after the diving. Proof the world may be big, but also very small.
Have you listened to Milo Greene's 1957 yet? You should, it is amazing.

Awesome that you were there!
oh man, you have had quite the adventures since i was i here last!!! so cool that you got to experience that, you are so adventurous. i would love to be there for it but then again, would hate the crowds, haha!
Oh fun....that you were there. Great photos. I enjoyed watching that event. tfs
Oh I was so impressed with the synchronized diving this year. I was in awe of the talent of these great people. My dives are nothing to write home about, but by the end of the diving competitions I could have been a judge, I knew exactly what they were doing wrong and when they were out of "synch".
These are brilliant shots. It seems so long ago now but it all starts again today!
How cool are you?! What an awesome experience.
My Hubby coached diving for a long time, it is amazing what they can do before they hit the water!!
So glad you had a great time at the events. The Olympics were really good.

Jealous. What a cool sport to witness. Not only the athleticism, but the grace and timing of doing it together. I love that last shot with the focus on the flag...but it is better having seen the others first.
Hope all is well with you Jamie. Happy Labor Day weekend.
i agree with everyone else, you are so lucky to have been able to go to the olympics and in in london no less. we are also lucky to tag along thru your wonderful pics :).
i love anything aquatic and these are great shots. you can really see if they are in sync. as much as i love the water though, i can't imagine doing this!
I watched this on television, and as always was so in awe. How wonderful it must have been to be there!
