The Old Bridge

What is it about old bridges that makes them so romantic?   Or am I the only one who thinks so?

I've read that Kentucky has a lot of great old bridges and there is even a driving tour that I've been meaning to go and do one weekend, but with just 2 weeks to go here, it isn't going to happen.  I'll just have to be satisfied with a random photo here or there.

This feels like the perfect song for an old bridge in the south, a little retro but full of beauty.

You're not alone, I think they are very romantic. Maybe it's a Bridges of Madison County thing. I think that movie, and especially the book, are super romantic! Beautiful photo.
Please share, if you play with the texture from my blog, I'd love to see what you do.

I agree, there's something so romantic about an old bridge- is it the thought of all the people who have crossed it or stood looking down at the water beneath?
I'm not so keen on suspension bridges though, they terrify me when they sway !

I grew up in rural Ohio. There were several covered bridges, and one just outside the tiny town we lived in. I was so disappointed to find it gone when I went back to visit a year ago. I don't have one photo of it, and it was on my "must have" list. I love bridges, but not going across high ones.
