Miss M's 2nd Birthday
I'm a very happy girl today.
I'm headed home for a long weekend with my family.
It does feel like I was just there (because I was) but I'm looking forward to going back again, this time for a happier occasion - Miss M's 3rd birthday. She's my favorite little girl, and while I know I'm biased, I think she's pretty incredible. Her mom reports that she's come to the airport enough times now to pick me up that when she sees an airplane she asks if it is "Jamie's oar-o-plane." In other news, we finally got her to say a few words to me on the phone - a major accomplishment, since all past attempts were made up of her demanding to talk to me, getting the phone and standing there silent, then handing the phone to her mom and then running to hide. I am the very definition of a proud Auntie.
This song from my favorite new artist is perfect for today:

Have a great time!! Cute picture.
Yay! I'm so glad you are home! Tonight was definitely a record on how many word she's said to ANYONE on the phone!
Have fun. I'd forgotten my kids used to (not) talk on the phone like that. Thanks for the memory.
Have a great trip and look forward to hearing all about it.
Have a wonderful trip!
I laughed at your post because at the moment I am having these "silent conversations" with my 4 year old nephew on the phone. His 2 year old sister is more chatty although I don't think she knows who she is babbling to!
Have a wonderful trip home!!! How nice.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog last week!!
Enjoy your trip ~

Have a great time at home!!! Maggie is definitely a doll!! I Would be proud to be her aunt too!
Oh Jamie! That's wonderful! Have a great time celebrating your niece's birthday! I'll be waiting for pictures when you get back!
You should try skype for you phone calls. I ring my sister and her family every week and her oldest (just 4) will now have a whole conversation with my partner even though they've never met. My sister also has a 9 month old who will wave to me and say "all-o" (hello) at the computer screen. It's a wonderful way to connect with little-ones from a distance.
